Mahila Utsav

On the eve of World Womens Day, our district has celebrated Mahila Utsav on saturday, 6th march at Lions Bhavan, Secunderabad.  A large gathering of Ladies, Lady Lions, cubs participated in the event.  The program was inaugurated by Lion Shobhana Tandon and Lion Lady Madhulatha Agarwal.  The Chief Guest of the program was our District Governor Lion R K Raju.  Lion Minesh N Tandon Vice District Governor I and Lion Mahesh Agarwal Vice District Governor II graced the occassion.

Eye Ball Collections

Congratulations to the club leaders for motivating and collecting 302 pairs of Eye Balls and helping 604 persons Sight. Indeed it is a great achievement. Congrats Lion Kola Anna Reddy, District Chairman Eye Ball Collections for motivating 45 Club leaders in the District and making them Knights of Blind. Indeed the clubs have touch the hearts of the blind by giving sight. Lion Kola Anna Reddy mjf., is arranging eye ball collection kits to the clubs which have already collected 5 or more pairs.

Charter Presentations

Our beloved District Governor Lion R K Raju pmjf., has presented the Charters to Lions Club of Kagaznagar Kothapeta on 1st november, 09 at Sirpurkagznagar.

Aid to Flood Victims

Our Convoy of Lorries with the material for flood victims has started on wednesday, 14-10-09 at 9am from C Block, AP Secretariat, Hyderabad. Our beloved Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr.K.Roshaiah has flagged off 6 lorries. Our District Clubs have come forward to donate liberally for the flood victims of Mahboobnagar and Kurnool districts. All the members interested to donate in cash can contact us or mail and help the victims. Congratulations to the members of Lions club of Hyderabad Begumpet, Ghanpur station, Mahboobabad, Hyderabad Stalwarts for already attending to the needs of the flood victims directly in distribution of material of Rs.15,00,000/-.

A total of Rs.35 lakhs of flood releif material was sent.

Pink Ribbon Walk

An awareness walk was organised jointly with the UBF on the eve of Breast Cancer Month from KBR park to Jubilee hills check post on sunday, 4th oct, 2009 at 6.30am. Miss Diana, Mrs. Bhoomika cine actress were present. The program was organised by Dr.Raghu Ram.

Mega Health Camps

The Two regions clubs of the twin cities have organised 2 mega health check up and IOL camps in twin cities on 2nd october, 2009. The regions clubs I & II involved corporate hospitals, and Lions eye hospitals in the camps. More than 650 patients were screened.

Eye Donation Fortnight

Our District organised Eye Donation campaign by conducting awareness camps, collecting eye ball pairs, distributing eye pledge forms, releasing media reports, distributing eye donation campaign flexi banners, posters, handbills. WE are proud that our district clubs have motivated many people to donate eyes and bring sight to the needy blind persons.
